Hello, lovely creatives! Week 3 of Jesstober literally just wrapped up yesterday, and I'm so excited to share this week's illustration with you – plus another adorable Soup update! 🐕💚
Week 3 Prompts: Glasses, Rainbow & Ducks
This week, I combined all three prompts into one cosy illustration, and honestly, it might be one of my favourites yet!
The Studious Duck 📚🌈
Meet this adorable chubby duck wearing glasses, sitting peacefully on a patch of grass under a pastel rainbow, reading a book titled "Ducks: How to Make Them Pay". The whole scene radiates calm, curiosity, and pure wholesome energy with just a touch of chaos ✨
The inspiration behind this? Years ago, I saw a hilarious Tumblr post about a book called "Ducks: How To Make Them Pay". The poster was genuinely disappointed to discover it was about profiting from duck husbandry – not about making ducks pay for their crimes! 😂
That post has lived rent-free in my head ever since, so naturally, I had to create a studious little duck reading up on duck knowledge. Maybe they're learning about their rights... or plotting something. Who knows? Either way, this illustration is pure joy wrapped in pastel colours and good vibes.
Soup Update: Settling In! 🐕💛
Our rescue greyhound, Soup, is officially settling into her new life with us, and we couldn't be more obsessed! She's gentle, goofy, and has the most endearing personality. Watching her discover new things – like the joy of soft blankets and sunny spots – has been the highlight of our days.
Soup's presence has brought so much warmth and inspiration into our home (and my art!). Expect more pup-inspired illustrations as we continue this Jesstober journey together! 🍂🐕
